A common question that you might have before Climbing Kilimanjaro is how much it’ll cost. The Kilimanjaro Cost depends on a few factors. Such as the type of climbing package, accommodation, the route you choose, food, crew, and gear costs.

Below are the different cost factors that go into calculating the true cost of Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

Kilimanjaro Climbing Packages Costs – Know what they are!

There are three different types of Kilimanjaro Packages that you can choose from. The following are their costs and you can pick your choice based on your preferences and budget.

  • Budget Kilimanjaro Climb – From $1650 - $2000
  • Mid–Range Kilimanjaro Climb – From $2000 - $3000
  • Luxury Kilimanjaro Climb – From $3000 - $4000

The Luxury and Mid-Range packages offer the best acclimatization, gear, and accommodation choices. They also have better success rates.

Kilimanjaro Accommodation Costs (From $160 onwards)

The accommodation costs before your Kilimanjaro trek will be in Arusha or Moshi. The following are their costs:

Note – The above prices are an estimate and subject to change. And the costs may increase from the closeness of the mountain.

The accommodations on the mountain will be in tented camps. Their prices are generally included in your Kilimanjaro Climbing Packages. The porters will carry all your tents and equipment up the mountain. The price for hiring a porter is $15 (per porter) for the whole trek. A tip at the end of your expedition will also be appreciated.

Kilimanjaro Routes Costs (From $1900 onwards)

The routes for Climbing Kilimanjaro include – Northern Circuit, Lemosho, Machame, Rongai, and Lemosho. The most affordable one is the Marangu Route. This route offers a 6-Day Kilimanjaro Package. The following are the costs of different routes of Kilimanjaro:

Kilimanjaro Crew Fees

While Climbing Kilimanjaro, you’ll be accompanied by porters, guides, chefs, assistant guides, etc. They’re dedicated groups of people who will assist you on your journey. Their fees are inclusive of the Kilimanjaro Cost. Below are the fees of different crew members

A Suggestion – The above-mentioned costs may vary according to the number of trekkers. As smaller groups have 4-5 porters and larger groups (more than 10 trekkers) include 40-50 porters.

Kilimanjaro Food and Gear Costs

The food costs for Kilimanjaro start from $50 onwards. Whereas, the gear costs are around $50-100. Also, the safety equipment costs for Climbing Kilimanjaro are $40-$50.
